Construction is currently underway on the iconic Northcote Theatre led by operator and co-founder of Northcote Social Club, Andrew Mansfied alongside a team of business partners.

The heritage-listed venue is among the oldest in Melbourne, standing tall on High Street since 1912. “High Street has really evolved over the years, but it’s always been a heartland for musicians and artists,” Andrew Mansfied said in a statement. “We just want to compliment what’s already here.”

The Edwardian Baroque-era space will be transformed into a multi-functional music and entertainment hub featuring a 1500 cap live music and performance space, cocktail and rooftop bars and an Italian style trattoria.

"The theatre is a grand and ornate space, purpose-built to host entertainment and right in the heart of Northcote" explains venue booker, Ben Thompson, "The new lease holders have uncovered a sweeping tiered mezzanine and there are direct stage sightlines from anywhere in the theatre, it's just perfect for live performance.”

As official venue ticketing partners, Harley Evans, Managing Director of Moshtix said “Melbourne music lovers are in for an absolute treat when they see the newly refurbished Northcote Theatre. With both the fans and artists interests at heart, the design of the theatre will make it one of Australia’s best live music venues, and Moshtix is absolutely thrilled to be able to play a part in a new legacy for this amazing building.”

The venue is set to open mid-2022 with plans to host a stunning list of local, national and international artists, breathing new life into the northern suburbs. U.S. rapper JPEGMAFIA will take over the stage in July over two nights, marking some of the very first performances at the refurbished venue. With the first show already sold out, tickets to JPEGMAFIA's 2nd show at Northcote Theatre on Tue 19 Jul 2022 are on sale now.
