Celebrating The Women Of Moshtix This International Women’s Day
This International Women's Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible women of Moshtix who are making a real impact across our industry. From Client Managers, to Finance, to Marketing, to Design – these women come from all walks of life and bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to our team. We sat down with a few of our Mosh ladies as they took us through insights into their professional growth, to pushing boundaries and accelerating change through their work!
How have you accelerated change, either personally or professionally, and what inspired that action?
Chris (Finance & Office Administrator): “I accelerated change in my life by focusing on personal growth and self-awareness. Inspired by a desire to become a better version of myself and to ensure I'm a positive role model for my four children, I decided and created daily habits that promote mindfulness and fitness. I started meditating and exercising regularly, which has not only improved my physical health but also my mental clarity and emotional well-being. This change was inspired to by a realization that I needed to prioritize my health and well-being to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.”
Rochelle (Senior Client Manager): “I am a strong-willed independent woman who has never liked being told what I should or shouldn’t do or be by another person, especially if it comes from a manipulative or controlling place. Growing up I had to challenge for my voice to be heard which I found frustrating, belittling and suffocating, which unknowingly at the time impeded my growth and confidence. The moment I broke free into the world as a solo adult, the enlightenment and power of independence freed me from the box I was constrained in, and that is a feeling I continue to embrace and fight for every moment I’m alive. Throughout the years I’ve had to learn how to find, navigate and modify my voice to what I believe empowerment and equality should look and feel like, which has not been an easy feat and is forever evolving just as life is. As part of that evolvement, I intentionally work and engage with others both personally and professionally to ensure they can find their voice, confidence, and place in this world with more ease.”
Please share four first names of women in the entertainment industry who inspire you and why.
Chris (Finance & Office Administrator): “Michelle Yeoh, Olivia Rodrigo, Dolly De Leon, Lucy Liu. They are inspiring Asian women who are making a significant impact in the industry. They’ve overcome stereotypes, biases, and countless obstacles to get to where they are today. Through it all, they’ve remained true to themselves and their cultures, inspiring countless fans along the way.”
Annie (GM - Marketing): “Little Sims, Doechii, Florence and the Machine, Sinead O'Connor. All fierce voices who are not afraid to tell it how it is, and they all shine a light on the challenges females face on a daily basis.”
Roch (Senior Client Manager):
“Courtney – There were quite a few inspirational female-lead bands of the grunge scene in the 90’s and Hole were one of my faves, played on high rotation for many years (and still are). Her uninhibited video clips and confrontational lyrics paired perfectly alongside the teenage angst of the 90’s, a time when youth (especially females) were best seen and not heard. We were a generation wanting to break through those barriers and her music and videos gave you the sense of empowerment to want to be a part of it, powered by dirty distorted guitars and flannel fashion. Courtney faced extra challenges being married to Kurt, exposing her to harsh criticism which made it harder to prove her worth, yet she was a persona not to be messed with and kept fighting through it, showcasing the power of determination.
Girli – Have followed Girli throughout various stages of her career and watched her evolve and grow in confidence over the years which has been very inspiring. It’s been great to see how she uses her art and voice to challenge what femininity is and means, and how it’s okay to be messy and angry and strong-willed and to not be defined by what others perceive ‘being a girl’ should be, which is something I can relate and connect with. Similarly, she’s also challenging how we talk about gender and sexuality and how we don’t need to be defined by a label, it’s okay to flex and just be who you want to be on any given day or mood.
Miley – her self-empowering dgaf and you can’t tell me what I can or cannot do attitude and lyrics are rather refreshing and admirable. She faced a difficult challenge trying to break free from a commercially made persona to one she wanted to create and define as her own, and as with many artists before her used controversial ways to get her message and point across so her voice could be heard and taken seriously. It is thanks to pop idols like Miley that life becomes easier for women to live, and to be seen and heard more seriously on a daily basis.
Angela – Former lead vocalist for Arch Enemy for over 10 years – Metal can often be perceived as a male-dominated genre however there are a number of high profile female artists out there and Angela’s power-fuelled vocals and growls really resonated with me and stuck out from the rest, showcasing empowerment, strength and inspiration that women do have a place and a voice (growl) in metal. One for all. All for one. We are strong. We are one. is one of my fave lyrics from a song of theirs, and that we are.”
Jess (Client Manager):
“Jenna McDougall from Tonight Alive – I met her at Bigsound and also at Soundwave, she is an incredible artist and has overcome her own adversity and decided to filter that into her music - amazing
All members of Babymetal – What can I say? These ladies have been on tour since they were teenagers and are still touring today. The lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto (aka Su-Metal) has an amazing voice and all members are super hard working. They all managed to still keep up with their school work while travelling and touring.
Bec Sandridge – Bec honestly surprised me when I saw her perform. She was super down to earth and super nervous which is something we all get on stage (myself included). I commend her for showing us she’s human and giving a truly humbling performance.
Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine) – This woman has got me through some tough times, her music is amazing and inspiring! Just the incredible talent to make each album completely different from the last. My favourite jump was the one between Ceremonials and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Amazing live too.”

What’s one small action we can all take to accelerate gender equality?
Chris (Finance & Office Administrator): “One small action we can all take to accelerate gender equality is to actively listen and amplify the voices of underrepresented genders. This means making a conscious effort to ensure everyone has a chance to speak, acknowledging their contributions, and offering support when necessary. By creating an environment where all genders feel valued and heard, we can help foster more inclusive spaces that promote equality. This small but impactful action encourages respect, collaboration, and empowers individuals to be more confident in sharing their perspectives, ultimately contributing to a more equitable society.”
Jess (Client Manager): “I would say to stop all microagressions towards women and stop tearing women down who hold positions of power. Everyone works hard to get where they want to go, regardless of gender. Gender should never be a factor in career progression.”
Annie (GM - Marketing): “If you see or hear something that isn't right, say something. Even a small comment can make a big difference.”
Rochelle (Senior Client Manager): “Listen, Accept, Adapt, Respect and Support everyone you meet and interact with, and together we can become one with gender equality.“
Do you have a personal pledge you can share?
Nicole (Senior Marketing Manager): “I pledge to always champion the women around me and encourage them to reach for their dreams.”
Sarah (Senior Client Manager): “I pledge to appreciate and recognise the accomplishments of all the women in my life, ensuring that their efforts are acknowledged and honoured every day.”
Rochelle (Senior Client Manager): “I pledge to be a part of change and to continue to challenge the status quo on what a woman is capable of.”
Annie (GM - Marketing): “I pledge to continue to challenge my own biases, and ensure I am doing everything in my power to uplift those around me giving space and a platform for their voices to be heard.”
Chris (Finance & Office Administrator): “I pledge to support gender equality by actively listening to and amplifying the voices of women. I will challenge any gender biases or stereotypes I encounter and strive to create a more inclusive and respectful environment for everyone. I commit to educating myself further on issues of gender inequality and help empower others.”
Jess (Client Manager): “Don’t bring down women who have what you want, learn from them.”
What's ONE song you'll be playing on this International Women's Day?
Sarah (Senior Client Manager): “Unstoppable by SIA”
Annie (GM - Marketing): “Women by Little Sims”
Chris (Finance & Office Administrator): “ROAR by Katy Perry”
Nicole (Senior Marketing Manager): “Strong Enough by Cher! I grew up listening to Cher – her first “farewell” tour was my first concert and she has always been such an icon to me. I am always inspired seeing her live and watching how she continues to be such a strong figure to this day.”
Jess (Client Manager): “Temple by Tonight Alive”
Rochelle (Senior Client Manager): “I have a ‘Don’t Wanna Mess With Me’ playlist which showcases a variety of female artists and is often on rotation, especially when I need empowering music to keep me focused and productive, or if I’m just having a challenging day. It opens up with Brody Dalle’s Don’t Mess With Me song which is a top fave and can be listened to on Spotify here.”
