We are pleased to announce that Moshtix API keys (sometimes referred to as API tokens) can now be generated using the self service 'API Keys' feature in the Moshtix Control Room. Prior to this update, API keys had to be requested in writing, generated manually, and sent back to you, so that you could use it in a partner integration.

But how does it all work?

Developers can extend the Moshtix platform by building integrations to automate custom actions (e.g. send purchaser details to a marketing tool when a fan buys a ticket, or create a listing on your website when an event is created in Moshtix). To ensure only trusted parties are accessing your data, many API's require a "Key" that is used to authorise access. For example, you will need a Moshtix API Key to connect any other platform to your Moshtix account and allow that trusted platform access to your data. This is why it is also important to keep your API key secret and only share it with trusted parties.
